From crystal clear night skies in Leadville to fall trail runs at Twin Lakes, a drive over Independence Pass, time in Aspen, and wrapping it all up with our first snowboarding day of the season at Arapahoe Basin, this week had a little bit of everything.

This stretch of our road trip took us through some of the most scenic and diverse parts of the state, from stormy mountain towns to quiet campsites, high alpine passes, and one of the darkest night skies we have ever seen.

Golden aspens lined the mountains, the air turned crisp, and every stop somehow felt better than the last. From trail running at Kenosha Pass to hiking massive sand dunes and ending the week in Durango, this was one of the most scenic weeks we have had on the road.

Cool mornings, golden leaves, and that perfect balance of mountain access and city convenience make it one of the best places to spend time on the road.
